Here are a few highlights that our generous members helped us accomplish in 2020:

We started a brand-new program called NAMI on Campus at the OSU-Mansfield and NC State campus. This group will be dedicated to increasing mental health support and normalizing mental health conversation.

We continued our educational programs which included our Family to Family Education Courses and conducted Crisis Intervention Team training for first-time responders.

We continue to bring Ending the Silence in the middle and high schools, teaching the importance of good mental health, how to help a struggling friend and suicide prevention. This curriculum is now available to staff as well!

We continue NAMI’s Family Support Groups every month. Due to COVID-19 we have been having Zoom support groups.

We continue to educate at various agencies, churches, health fairs, schools and clubs on NAMI’s services, the family perspective and mental illness.

NAMI Connections peer led support group for individuals with mental illness continues to meet the third Thursday of the month at the OASIS Peer Center. Due to COVID-19 we have been having Zoom support groups.

We diligently work one on one with families in crisis.

NAMI staff is onsite at local mental health agencies to advocate and encourage more family involvement.
